Description
another lake wichita shot for everyone to enjoy
this was mainly taken to show everyone the fires in L.A. (California) are bringing smokey haze all the way to Texoma
the sky has been a kind of foggy blue in the day time and at night it makes a for a beautiful sunset
interesting note.. the fires have been nicknamed the "station fires" because of all the television satellites and towers burning up
this is a way farther out shot than most of these.. you can see the old docks in the distance
more lake wichita for you

First go at a photo critique. When I compare this shot to your others of Lake Wichita, it has a feel of surreal, ominous beauty; as if the natural scene has been somehow disturbed or corrupted. As always, the orange light reflecting off the water looks pretty, but now its like an arrow calling attention to the sun.
The obscured sun is creepy in the way it shows how much light has been cut out over that distance, and gives the viewer an impression of the sheer amount of smoke in the atmosphere. The lone, flying bird on the left is not visible in the thumbnail and easily overlooked in the full-sized image, but adds to the desolateness of the scene as well.
The reeds are silhouetted. This is good because if their colour was visible, it would have been a complete distraction. I don't think capturing the scene was technically difficult, but it certainly has impact.
