beautiful photo. I used to work at a ranch and the kildeer would lay their eggs in some seriously questionable places: pastures full of half ton hoofed animals, the driveway, but my favorite were the ones who chose our nice sandy riding arena. It really seemed like a safety third kind of parenting style.
Killdeer are so cute! And their eggs - I had no idea they were so beautiful! They like to nest right out in the open, so they're often bush-hogged or mowed down. Or stepped on.
Glad you took a picture of them. I know you just found them there but they look neat on the speckled backdrop. You've got a good eye.
